We have more suicides in Texas than homicides. BTW Texas Monthly published my letter after leaving out the facts I cited concerning suicide increases especially among white females. Have a good day.

Rick Allen Wacohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06438785631710897084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8397075136346606614.post-17422632117854901052016-04-20T15:26:33.982-05:002016-04-20T15:26:33.982-05:00Jerry: You are right on the numbers according to P...Jerry: You are right on the numbers according to Pew. Of course, that doesn't excuse or rationalize the unconscionable toll from gun carnage (Newtown, Charleston, Aurora, San Bernardino and on and on.)

By the way, peer into my toaster and you'll see crumbs. I enjoyed your satire in this post, but I must correct you on one thing. Guns don't kill ever increasing numbers of citizens-quite the contrary. Firearms homicides have declined 50% in the last 20 years-from 7.07/100,000 in 1995 to 3.5/100,000 in 2014-I don't have data for 2015.
As to looking down the barrel of the .45 I carried in Vietnam, I'm not sure you would peer into my soul, but I do believe if you could actually see anything, your vision is far better than mine at our advanced ages!
